One-day trip
At 8,30 h pick-up from your hotel and departure to Melnik, about 11 h arrival At the town of Melnik - the smallest and one of the most romantic towns in Bulgaria with unique architecture and nature, famous for its excellent red wine. Situated in the south-west folders of the majestic Pirin mountain at about 180 km from the capital Sofia and only at 20 km of the most popular spa-center on the Balkans – the town-resort Sandasnki. Melnik has a long and turbulent history and the queer rock pyramids supplied the background of many dramatic events. Take a walk in the winding streets of the town to visit the Kordopulova House – museum with huge wine cellars. Enjoy a delicious lunch in traditional tavern with menu of local specialties and wine testing. After lunch drive to the Rozhen Monastery only at 6 km from Melnik – a masterpiece by itself with the beautiful woodcarving and frescoes the church, built in the year 1600 reveals the master works of the Debar painting school from the 18the century. Leisure time for a walk around the sandstone pyramids surrounding the monastery and Melnik – a unique natural phenomenon, created by erosion, wind and water ... Let your imagination show you wonder heroes and scenes... In the afternoon drive back to Sofia – arrival at the hotel about 18,30 – 19,00 h.
